How it works

A clear evidence trail, step by step

The strongest evidence systems make every transition explicit. Attestarium keeps mutable workspace information separate from immutable evidence facts.

Select and hash

Choose one or more files. In Proof-only mode, SHA-256 is calculated locally in your browser. The source file is not uploaded by that workflow.

Describe the evidence

Add a title, evidence description and optional case. Review what will become immutable before you seal it.

Strong authentication

Permanent sealing requires TOTP MFA. Recovery codes provide a controlled backup path without support being able to disable MFA casually.

Canonicalise and seal

Attestarium creates a deterministic evidence manifest, hashes it and signs a separate seal payload with the active Ed25519 operational key.

Batch and anchor

The resulting ledger entry is placed in an adaptive Merkle tree. Batches close on capacity or age, whichever comes first. Independent anchoring is an explicit trust layer, not hidden behind one green badge.

Export and verify

Download a DDEP package. The built-in verifier checks package file hashes, the manifest commitment and the platform signature without requiring a database lookup.

What Attestarium proves, and what it does not

It can establish

  • Which digital fingerprint was committed
  • What declaration was sealed
  • When Attestarium recorded the event
  • Whether the package and signed record still match
  • Additional trust signals when configured

It does not magically establish

  • That the depositor created the work
  • That a rights claim is legally correct
  • That no earlier version existed elsewhere
  • That every court must reach a particular conclusion
